Certification
Long before a BMW can receive the prestigious distinction of being named a BMW Certified Pre-Owned vehicle, it must be rigorously inspected, thoroughly reconditioned, and approved by an experienced BMW inspection team of BMW certified technicians, Service Managers, and Pre-Owned Managers. This helps ensure that you’ll receive the genuine Ultimate Driving Machine® you’ve always dreamed of.
- Vehicle History – Every BMW Certified Pre-Owned must have an exceptional maintenance history, genuine BMW parts, and a clean CARFAX™ or AutoCheck® report.
- To be eligible for enrollment in the Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Program, a late-model vehicle must have more than 300 miles but less than 60,000 miles on the odometer.
- Vehicles must pass a thorough 360° inspection by BMW factory-trained technicians. They carefully scrutinize safety, performance, and wear. If something is out of place, it is fixed. If it cannot be fixed, the vehicle cannot become a Certified Pre-Owned BMW.
- Finally, each Pre-Owned BMW must undergo a comprehensive road test where BMW technicians can verify that all rigorous BMW standards are met.
BMW Certified Pre-Owned Warranty
The BMW Certified Pre-Owned Protection Plan provides coverage for 1 year with unlimited miles from the expiration of the 4 year/50,000-mile (whichever comes first) BMW New Vehicle/SAV Limited Warranty.
Additional plans are available to extend your vehicle’s coverage up to a total of 6 years with unlimited miles.
The Certified Pre-Owned Protection Plan provides specific coverage against defects in material and workmanship; the plan is not a Maintenance Program or an extension of the original 4-year/50,000 mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty for Passenger Cars and Light Trucks (Valid in U.S.A. including Puerto Rico). There are various items that are not covered by these warranties.

BMW Roadside Assistance
24 hours a day, 365 days a year, you’ll have exceptional travel protection – even if someone else is driving your BMW. With no additional cost or mileage restrictions, the BMW Roadside Assistance Program is designed to ensure complete peace of mind while on the road.
Certified Pre-Owned BMW owners are covered up to six years from your vehicle’s original in-service date, with no mileage limitations.*
Program services include, but are not limited to:
- Towing service to the nearest authorized BMW center due to mechanical disablement, road hazard damage, or accident
- Battery jump starts
- Fuel or operating fluids delivery (driver is responsible for fuel/fluids cost)
- Tire change assistance
- Lock-out services (if keys are locked in the vehicle)
- Trip interruption benefits
