About the BMW X3
Driving a crossover SUV no longer means having to sacrifice agile handling, potent performance, and superlative comfort – especially when you choose the BMW X3. Signature BMW styling cues and distinctive alloy wheel designs allow the X3 to stand out from the competition. Power comes in the form of either a standard 2.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder or the available 3.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder, each offering an impressive combination of efficiency and response. The 2.0-liter engine produces 255 horsepower, already a potent power plant for a compact SUV, but the 3.0-liter engine tunes things up considerably with 393 horsepower.
Designed to go wherever adventure leads, the X3 comes with standard xDrive all-wheel drive to help you excel across all types of terrain. Lift its standard power tailgate to reveal a cavernous 67 cubic feet of cargo space, making it simple to bring all of your luggage along for your next weekend getaway. Inside the X3, drivers will find themselves surrounded by cutting-edge tech and the latest in comfort amenities to help them get the most from their daily drive.
What the Critics Say
BMW has incorporated plenty of tech into the X3, including two digital dashboard displays as well as a host of driver-assistance features. Overall, the X3 is well-rounded, but it’s the agile handling and gutsy turbo engines that make it one of our favorite BMWs.” — Car and Driver
The X3 remains one of the leaders in its class, a booming one that includes the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5, Lexus NX, Acura RDX, and Volvo XC60. Those are all strong rivals, but the BMW X3 continues to appeal to drivers who desire a crossover with SUV practicality and sport sedan driving manners – not to mention the prestige of a BMW badge.” — Kelley Blue Book
What’s New For 2025
The X3 receives a redesign for 2025, giving it a completely new look and a more spacious interior. Both engines now produce more power, and a lot more torque, specifically. All-wheel drive is now standard as well. Infotainment received a big bump in capability too, with a new 14.9-inch central touchscreen replacing the much smaller screen in the previous X3. This system also features BMW Operating System 9, the latest and most capable BMW infotainment software yet. The trims have been renamed, with the “i” being dropped, as BMW now reserves that designation for electric models. So the xDrive30i is now the xDrive40, and together with the significant boost in power, the M40i has become the M50.
BMW X3 Features

Passionate Performance
Striking the perfect balance of agility, utility, and power, the X3 offers your choice of two different engines. The latest TwinPower Turbo 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine provides a power boost of 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque delivering exceptional acceleration to the xDrive30. A fine-tuned 3.0-liter M performance TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder engine performs by pulling power with smoothness and efficiency — and propels the M50 with a best-in-segment 0-60 mph time of 4.4 seconds. That’s because the M50 packs a whopping 393 horsepower, enough to turn this refined daily driver into a serious performance machine. All variants come with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport Automatic with shift paddles, tuned specifically to match the engine’s personality. XDrive all-wheel drive, as standard, 8.5 inches of ground clearance, and Dynamic Stability Control maximizes the driving dynamics and efficiency of the BMW X3.

Luxurious Interior
It’s an entirely new experience inside the 2025 BMW X3. Cargo storage capacity expands to an impressive 67 cubic feet of cargo space with the help of the split fold-down seats. Replacing the SensaTec upholstery of previous models, a vegan leather alternative “Veganza” is now standard equipment on the X3. Once only available on 7-Series models, the synthetic leather-free material with grain and perforation offers improved haptics and optimised climate properties. To set the perfect mood, the new X3 now allows you to adjust the interior ambient lighting via your choice of 15 different colors and dynamic effects. Finally, open the available Sky Lounge Panoramic Roof to enjoy fresh air and natural lighting on the way to your destination.

Intelligent Technology
In the highly competitive luxury compact SUV segment, the cutting-edge technology found in the X3 gives it a huge advantage. Step into the X3 and you’ll immediately notice the BMW Curved Display, which joins a 12.3-inch fully digital and customizable instrument display together with a 14.9-inch central infotainment touchscreen to give the appearance of one continuous display.
The infotainment system runs BMW’s latest and most advanced software yet, BMW Operating System 9, allowing you to simply speak to take control of your BMW. The voice-activated BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is ready to answer any question or command. Upgrade to the Connected Package Professional and enjoy features like cloud-based navigation, which not only keeps your system perpetually updated, but also provides real-time weather, traffic, and even on-street parking information. And speaking of parking, the available Parking Assistant Professional Package lets you designate a specific parking spot, say in a shared garage at your home or office, and the new X3 can park itself there, even if you aren’t in the vehicle.
